Viltri vs Flighty

Flighty is a flight tracker. Viltri is a trip-weather app. If your trips are mostly flights and you want to follow every plane, Flighty is the better app. If you want the weather at every stop and along every drive of a trip, including the flights, that’s what Viltri is for.

We make Viltri, so read this with that in mind. Every Flighty claim links to Flighty’s own pages or App Store listing, checked October 28, 2026.

Where Flighty is better

Following a flight. Flighty is built around the flight itself, with in-depth tracking and alerts as it changes. Viltri shows live aircraft on a map, but it isn’t a flight tracker in that sense, and for a frequent flyer who mostly cares about the flight, Flighty does more.

Devices. Flighty runs on Apple Watch, iPad and Mac as well as iPhone. Viltri is an iPhone app.

Where Viltri is better

Everything that isn’t the flight. A trip is more than a flight: a drive to the airport, a few days somewhere, a drive on to the next place. Viltri forecasts the weather along each drive for the time you’ll be on it, and at each stop for the days you’re there. Flighty doesn’t cover those parts of a trip.

Price. Viltri Premium is $24.99 a year; Flighty Pro is $59.99 a year.

Which should you use?

If you fly for work several times a month and the plane is what you’re watching, use Flighty. If your trips mix flights, drives and stops and you want one place that tells you what the weather will be wherever you are on each day, use Viltri. They don’t do the same job, so plenty of people could use both.

To see what the weather is doing at two airports right now, without either app, try the free flight-day airport weather check.
