Viltri helps you plan trips and check weather conditions along the way. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
When you create a trip, Viltri stores:
Trip data is stored locally on your device first. If you enable iCloud syncing (optional), your trips sync to your iCloud account so they're available across your devices.
Your device's current location (used only when you grant permission, to show weather for your area) · Locations you add manually to trips · Watched places for alert monitoring
We never store your location history. Location data is used only to fetch weather, calculate trip warnings, and display conditions for your stops.
Viltri fetches and temporarily caches:
This data is not stored permanently — it refreshes when you open the app or visit a tab.
Your preferences: temperature units (F/C), wind speed units (mph/km/h), selected activity type (motorcycle/golf/boating/hiking), theme choice (Living Sky/Daylight/Blackout/Your Photo) · Your app icon photo (if you selected "Your Photo" theme) — stored locally only, never sent to us
If you enable notifications, Viltri sends alerts for severe weather:
Notifications fire locally on your device. We do not send marketing notifications.
Viltri uses Apple's StoreKit 2 system for subscriptions ($2.99/mo or $24.99/yr). We receive only confirmation that a purchase succeeded or failed; Apple handles all payment information. We never see your credit card, billing address, or Apple ID.
Viltri uses these free, public data sources to show you weather:

We send your location to these services only when you request weather for it (viewing Today, Radar, or Alerts tabs). The requests include just the coordinate and your selected units; we don't send trip names, preferences, or any identifying information.
If you enable iCloud syncing, your trips and watched places sync to your iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service. This means:
Syncing is optional. You can use Viltri without iCloud — trips stay local to your device only.
When you share a trip, Viltri generates a link that contains:
The link works on any device, any platform — you can share with Android users, email, text, or social media. The data never touches our servers; it travels only in the link. Recipients can view your trip and its weather without an account or app.
No account is created from a shared link. Recipients see only the trip you shared, nothing else.
When you export a trip to your device's calendar, Viltri creates a .ics calendar file with:
This file goes only to your device's calendar app. We don't access, store, or see it.
If you pick "Your Photo" as your theme, you select a photo from your device. Viltri:
The photo stays on your device. We never see it.
Access: Everything in Viltri is accessible to you inside the app — your trips, watched places, and saved preferences.
Export: Any trip can be shared as a link (containing the same data as in the app) or exported to your calendar.
Delete: You can delete any trip, watched place, or preference anytime. Deleted data is gone immediately from your device. If synced to iCloud, it's removed from iCloud too.
Backup & Restore: Viltri data is included in your device backups (Settings > iCloud on iOS). Restoring a backup restores your trips and preferences.
We never retain historical weather data, location history, or a log of your past trips on any server.
Viltri is not directed at children under 13.
Advertising. The free tier shows a single banner promoting Viltri Premium. It is served by Viltri itself — there is no third-party ad network in the app, no advertising identifier is read, and nothing about you is sent to an advertiser. Premium removes the banner. If a third-party ad network is ever added, this section and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that ships, because such a network would collect identifiers.
Beyond that banner there is no tracking and no data collection past what the app needs to show you weather. If a parent is concerned about data, the iCloud sync setting can be turned off and the app used entirely locally.
We may update this policy. If we make material changes (e.g., add a new data source, change how we handle trip sharing), we'll update the date at the top and note what changed here.
